In 2024 SPL undertook a major renovation on a building that was to become our headquarters. After the dust settled and we moved in, we realized we had an entire storage trailer of new or gently used construction material! Light fixtures, carpet remnants, insulation, drywall and even lumber! We reached out to our local Habitat for Humanity and they came to pick it up. The organization doesn’t just build safe and affordable houses for people in our community and beyond, it also keeps millions of pounds of perfectly usable construction material out of landfills!
