Standard Petroleum Logistics operates in a highly regulated industry where licenses are not optional and compliance is ongoing. In every state where we operate, SPL maintains the required licenses, registrations, and bonds necessary to legally sell fuel and support fuel system operations.

These requirements range from straightforward state registrations to highly specialized fuel- and tax-related licenses. They are difficult to obtain, costly to maintain, and easy to lose if documentation, reporting, or renewals are not handled correctly and on time.

SPL takes this responsibility seriously — because compliance failures create risk for both vendors and clients.

Licensed to Operate Where We Serve

Fuel suppliers are only as legitimate as the licenses they hold. SPL maintains multiple licenses in each state where we do business, including fuel-specific, tax, and regulatory credentials that vary by jurisdiction.

These may include:

  • State fuel and tax licenses

  • Specialized regulatory schedules and registrations

  • Bonded licenses with financial and reporting requirements

While listing every license is neither practical nor useful, clients can be confident that SPL operates fully within the legal and regulatory frameworks required for fuel sales and tank services in each applicable state.

This is one of the clearest ways to distinguish established operators from “sketchy” or under-qualified market participants.

Certified and Recognized Where It Matters

Woman-Owned Small Business

Standard Petroleum Logistics holds recognized small business and diversity certifications, including those commonly required by public agencies and institutional procurement programs.

These may include certifications such as:

  • WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise)

  • DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise)

  • ACDBE (Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise)

  • State-specific small business or diversity designations

SPL is listed in multiple state and agency vendor directories, where many organizations first discover us during procurement and contracting processes.

A Woman-Owned Small Business – In Practice

Standard Petroleum Logistics is a woman-owned small business, founded and led by an owner who is directly involved in day-to-day operations.

This is not a paper designation or a technicality. SPL reflects hands-on leadership, operational experience, and long-term accountability — not ownership structures designed solely to qualify for certifications.

In October, SPL’s founder Misty Sexton will mark 20 years in the downstream petroleum industry, experience that directly informs how the company operates, complies, and supports clients today. Learn more about SPL’s founder!

Compliance Is Ongoing, Not a One-Time Event

Certifications and licenses are not static achievements. They require continuous attention, accurate reporting, renewals, audits, and compliance with changing regulations.

SPL maintains internal processes to track and manage these requirements so clients don’t have to question whether their fuel supplier is operating properly — or whether vendor eligibility could become an issue mid-contract.
